Era 6: The Development of the Industrial United States (1870-1900) Standard 3A: The student understands how the "second industrial revolution" changed the nature and conditions of work.

Era 6: Standard 3B: The student understands the rise of national labor unions and the role of state and federal governments in labor conflicts.

Era 6: Standard 3C: The students understands how Americans grappled with social, economic, and political issues.

Era 3: Standard 1B: The student understands the principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence

Era 6: Standard 2C: The student understands how new cultural movements at different social levels affect American life

Lesson Plan 4: Elementary School



This lesson will fulfill the following NCHS NCHS National History Standards:

Topic Two: The History of the Students' Own State or Region: Standard 3C: The student understands the various other groups from regions throughout the world who came into the his or her own state or region over the long-ago and recent past.

Topic Four: The History of Peoples of Many Cultures Around the World: Standard 7A: The student understands the cultures and historical developments of selected societies in such places as Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
